BLINKEN SAYS ISRAELI LIVES DON’T MATTER MORE THAN PALESTINIAN LIVES
January 18, 2024Speaking with NY Times Columnist, Thomas Friedman at the World Economic Forum in Davos, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken yesterday described the aggression on Gaza as “gut-wrenching” and said what was needed was a Palestinian state “that gives people what they want and works with Israel to be effective”.
“The suffering we are seeing among innocent men, women and children, breaks my heart,” he said in a speech at the World Economic Forum in the Swiss ski resort of Davos. “The question is what is to be done.”
I genuinely felt that Blinken was breaking and the toll Israel’s genocide war was having on him was huge. But rather than feel any sympathy for him, I would have liked to say to him –
“YOU DID THIS.
YOU & BIDEN & THE COUNTLESS US ADMINISTRATIONS WHO HAVE ALLOWED ISRAEL TO ESCAPE WITHOUT PUNISHMENT.
WITH EVERY UN RESOLUTION YOU VETO.
WITH EVERY ARMS DEAL YOU AUTHORIZE.
WITH EVERY AID BILL YOU APPROVE.
WITH EVERY FALSE NARRATIVE YOU PEDDLE.
YOU DID THIS!
YOU BETTER FIX IT NOW!

English Script:
Tom Friedman: Do Jewish lives matter more than Palestinian and Muslim lives, Palestinian Christian lives, given the incredible asymmetry in casualties? And I’ve been asked that, I want to give you a chance to respond to that.
Antony Blinken: No. Period. For me, I think for so many of us, what we’re seeing every single day in Gaza is gut-wrenching. And the suffering we’re seeing among innocent men, women and children breaks my heart. The question is, what is to be done?
