LOVE IS WAY MORE IMPORTANT THAN HATE
January 20, 2024LOVE IS WAY MORE IMPORTANT THAN HATE
A heartwarming conversation between the Palestinian Ambassador to the UK Husam Zomlot with Sandra Gathmann on @aljazeeraenglish addressing a special question. Zomlot, who was born in a refugee camp, is asked, ‘What’s next for a young Palestinian boy facing tough times?’ His answer is all about strength, hope and love.
Zomlot’s words to the young one: ‘You belong to an amazing nation. Be proud of your ancestors, parents, and grandparents. Love is stronger than hate; hold onto love for your people and your home.’ Despite challenges, especially after what happened in Gaza, he says that choosing love over hate is crucial.
RESPECT FOR YOU MR. AMBASSADOR @HZOMLOT
A reminder that, even when things are tough, love for your people is the key to remembering who you are and having hope in a better tomorrow. 💙🇵🇸

English Script:
Sandra Gathmann: You yourself, Mr. Ambassador, were born in a refugee camp in Rafah. If you could speak to a Palestinian boy, a young Palestinian boy who’s there right now, and he asked you, Mr. Zomlot, what happens next? What would you tell them?
Husam Zomlot: I don’t have a crystal ball, but I’ll tell him, you belong to a very special and great nation. I’ll tell him that he must be part of the journey. I’ll tell him he should be proud of his ancestors, of his parents and grandparents. I’ll tell him that love is way more important than hate that he has to have or she has to have so much love for their people and their country. You know, the one thing that makes Palestinians, Palestinians, is that we really love our people. I love our people. That’s that’s the key thing. And I think that it will be a huge challenge after the latest aggression on Gaza to make sure that it’s not a hate that will take over, it’s love.
