HEZBOLLAH COMMANDER KILLED IN ISRAELI DRONE STRIKE IN SOUTH LEBANON

In a significant escalation of the ongoing conflict between Hezbollah and Israel, Abbas Al-Debes, a Hezbollah military commander was killed, and another member was wounded in an apparent Israeli drone strike on a vehicle in Nabatieh, a major urban center in southern Lebanon.
According to reports from Arabic media, Al-Debes was allegedly associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and was involved in assisting Iran in establishing air defenses in Syria.
As per Hebrew media sources, Al-Debes was identified as Hezbollah’s regional commander in the area where an anti-tank missile was launched from earlier on Thursday at a base near Kiryat Shmona. The attack resulted in serious injuries to a non-commissioned officer and minor injuries to two other soldiers.
“Hezbollah will continue to pay with the loss of its systems. Dozens of aircraft are now operating in the skies of southern Lebanon, and as soon as the order is given, the dozens will turn into hundreds that will perform the missions within minutes of being scrambled,” Maj. Gen. Tomer Bar said at an internal IAF conference, according to a transcript published by the IDF.
Israel has repeatedly bombarded Lebanese border villages, killing 227 people, mostly Hezbollah fighters but also 27 civilians.
