The courage of this young boy supersedes that of world leaders.
Listen to Hamza, a 5th grader from Houston, Texas, deliver a beautiful prayer for the people in Gaza at a Houston City Council meeting. He ends the meeting with a heart-rendering supplication:
“Oh Lord, give our leaders in the Houston City Council the courage, strength and wisdom to call for an immediate ceasefire”!

Hamza: My name is Hamza and I am a fifth grader. Last month about 100 aunts, uncles and cousins on my mom’s side and 100 on my dad’s side were killed in Israeli airstrikes. I am too scared to watch the videos in Gaza but I know that, but I know there are lots of people freezing, starving and dehydrated. What makes me feel better is that in our religion, we know those were killed in Gaza are not dead, but that they are raised to heaven because they were innocent people who were martyred. Dear Mayor Whitmeyer and city council, would you please allow me to recite a 1 minute supplication to honor my family and all the people that are suffering or died in Gaza?
Mayor Whitmeyer: Go ahead.
Hamza: Please everyone put your hands up for this supplication. Oh lord, give our leaders in the Houston City Council the courage, strength and wisdom to call for an immediate ceasefire.
