ISRAEL IS MODERN DAY “KU KLUX KLAN”
March 12, 2024Former US Ambassador, Chas Freeman decries Israel as perpetrating “a mass lynching in Gaza” and demonstrating “the values of the Ku Klux Klan.”
“The question they used to pose was does Israel have a right to exist? I think that question is being replaced now by much of the world by, DOES ISRAEL DESERVE TO EXIST?”
Freeman is a decorated retired U.S. diplomat and author. He was Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs from 1993-94, earning the highest public service awards of the Department of Defense for his roles in designing a NATO-centered post-Cold War European security system and in reestablishing defense and military relations with China. He served as U. S. Ambassador to Saudi Arabia (during operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm).
He was Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs during the historic U.S. mediation of Namibian independence from South Africa and Cuban troop withdrawal from Angola.
His words carry tremendous weight and worth considering.

Chas Freeman: I mean, the basic argument for supporting Israel has been, first, we share values. Well, Israel is demonstrating the values of the Ku Klux Klan. And I don’t share those values. I mean, basically what’s going on in Gaza is a mass lynching. And the second reason is supposedly that Israel is a strategic asset. But I have never heard anyone describe what it does for us other than get us in trouble. You know, the question they used to pose was, does Israel have a right to exist? Which is a rather strange question because it does exist. But I think that question is being replaced now in much of the world by does Israel deserve to exist? Can the world really maintain normal relations with a country that behaves in utter disregard of international law and in a completely inhumane fashion?
