She goes on to detail how Lebanon has been expelled from the international system and will fail to expand so long as it abstains from reforms suggested by the International Monetary Fund.
“We can’t sell to anyone given our current situation. If you don’t have a deal with the IMF, to reintegrate you into the global financial system, to financial markets, you can do nothing and you can’t sell oil and gas. So why don’t they want the IMF? Because it demands reforms.”
