“Since October 7, those settlers were given all the rights to be able to confiscate land, to arrest people,” Musallam says.

Amira Musallam: My name is Amira Musallam, I’m from Bethlehem and my land was stolen by kids at risk in Israel, settlers who are radical and out of control.
They put everything out for us, they removed us from the land without any paper, without any rights. And here they are, military, protecting those settlers. Say hi to the camera.
Those settlers are not even adults. Those settlers are kids, and guarded by an adult settler who is wearing the IDF uniform, though he is not enlisted in the IDF.
On our 11th day, we are still here trying to get back to our land.
They are not even kids from the settlement nearby. They are kids at risk, kids with problems. Maybe orphans, maybe kids with psychological problems, with troubled families. They take them in the system to take care of them. But at the end, they bring them to the West Bank.
You are on drugs? It seems that your eyes are very red. What did you take? What drug did you take?
They were very violent. One of them even, tried to attack us with a knife. While we are speaking, they are there in our land, and we were kicked out without any excuse and without any eviction order. We had 17 times, demolishing happening since 2019 until those settlers came in and just stole the land. Since the 7th of October, all eyes were on Gaza, and, the Israeli government, and also the settlers took advantage of that. Those settlers were given all the rights to be able to confiscate land, to arrest people, to even kill people on the ground.
