The British chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court has been accused of misconduct amid harassment claims involving a female colleague.
Karim Khan KC, a barrister tasked with bringing war criminals to justice, triggered outrage in May after requesting arrest warrants for Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and defence minister Yoav Gallant for alleged crimes against humanity in Gaza.
The shock move was condemned as ‘outrageous’ by President Joe Biden and ‘deeply unhelpful’ by then Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Anna Botting: So, in our earlier interview, how this issue is starting to affect the U.S. election in the Arab American areas of Michigan, one of the battleground states, what would you say right now to either the Biden administration or Donald Trump if he wins, or right now to Secretary State Blinken, who is in the region about how to put an end to this and how to stop?
Jan Egeland: Yeah, I would say, since we all agree that Russian occupation of Ukraine is really very bad. How come Israeli occupation of the West Bank and besiegement and occupation of Gaza seems to be tolerable? It’s intolerable really, and it’s a stain on this with these Western powers, and it has lost them public opinion in the rest of the world. We’re told when we travel around, you westerners are hypocrites on an industrial scale. This is something that has to change. I think the U.S. is realizing that and that we need to be much, much more pressure on the stronger party here, as there needs to be pressure on anyone who can put any pressure on the militant groups on the Arab side.
