Syrian Leader Al‑Sharaa Eyes Seizure of Tripoli and Other Lebanese Regions as Israel Deal Condition

Al-Sharaa’s government in Syria is reportedly seeking to seize Tripoli and other regions in northern #Lebanon and the Beqaa Valley into its territory as part of a proposed peace settlement with “Israel”, a source close to #Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa told i24NEWS on Thursday.
The source described two settlement scenarios involving #Syria retaining 1/3 of the Golan Heights and Lebanese land concessions, which Syria claims were separated from it during the #French Mandate.
The proposal also involves a regional water-sharing agreement between #Turkey, Syria, and “Israel”, allowing the latter to access the Euphrates water via a pipeline in exchange for territorial compromises.
