“I’m a Catholic… Does That Make Me an Antisemite?”: Commissioner Confronts Zionism Accusation on TRT World
February 13, 2026
“I’M A CATHOLIC… DOES THAT MAKE ME ANTISEMITIC?”
Carrie Prejean Boller asked that question during a public hearing on antisemitism in Washington, D.C. — insisting opposition to Zionism isn’t antisemitism and pressing witnesses over Israel and Gaza.
Her confrontational line of questioning triggered a fierce backlash and she was removed from the White House Religious Liberty Commission this week by its chairman, who said she had “hijacked” the hearing with her own political agenda.
She refused to resign, claiming only Donald Trump could fire her but the commission’s chair said the move was necessary after the controversy.
it’s a flashpoint in the fight over what criticism counts as hate, and who gets to decide.
Speak up — lose your seat.
Stay quiet — keep your title.
That’s the message people are seeing.

English Script:
Carrie Prejean Boller: Well, as you know, I’m a Catholic. I’m a Catholic. And Catholics do not embrace Zionism. Just, so you know. So are all Catholics anti-Semites according to you?
Rabbi Abi Berman: As I said, anti-Zionism. And by denying the right of the Jews to have their own state, while not saying the same for any other peoples, that is a double standard, hypocrisy and anti-Semitism.
Carrie Prejean Boller: So by not being a Zionist, does that make you an anti-Semite?
Yitzchoak Frankel: I don’t think you need to be a Zionist to support a country that defends itself and is free and religious in a hostile neighborhood.
Carrie Prejean Boller: You believe that speaking out about what many Americans view as genocide in Gaza should be treated as anti-Semitic.
Yitzchoak Frankel: These were students calling for intifada within days after October 7th, before Israel had even entered Gaza. So it’s not about them and their using Palestinian civilian death, which is horrendous and horrible. They’re using it as a prop.
Carrie Prejean Boller: I don’t support the political state of Israel. Am I an anti-Semite? Yes or no?
Unknown man: They already answered, asked and answered.
Carrie Prejean Boller: According to you on the record, yes. I don’t support the political state of Israel?
Unknown man: I don’t personally label people.
