Mexico’s Defense Chief Says 80% of Cartel Weapons Come From U.S., 20% Traced to Israel
March 4, 2026
While Washington and Tel Aviv talk about “”border security,”” Mexico’s Defense Secretary Ricardo Trevilla is showing the receipts. New data confirms that 80% of the weapons turning Mexican streets into war zones are coming from the U.S., with the rest largely traced back to Israel.
As the U.S. designates cartels as “”foreign terrorist organizations,”” it continues to be their primary supplier of sniper rifles and machine guns. If we want to stop the violence, we have to stop the flow of iron from the North.

Ricardo Trevilla: It has already been mentioned here. Speaking of the strategy, since the beginning of this administration, 23,000 weapons have been seized. Of those 23,000 weapons, 80% are of US origin. So in this case, the proportion is roughly the same.
