UK police arrested Tim Crosland (ex-government lawyer, co-founder of Defend Our Juries) and Patrick “Paddy” Friend (law student & DOJ spokesperson).

Their “crime”? Opposing genocide in Gaza.

The state is weaponizing the Terrorism Act to silence those who dare to challenge Britain’s complicity in Israel’s war crimes. When defending human rights is treated as terrorism, democracy is already dead.

We see you. We will not be silenced.

Patrick: Yeah, this is what happens in Britain in 2025 for opposing genocide.

Police officer: So I am to be placing you under arrest, okay? And I am going to read out the reason for that. The time now is 10 past 7 in the morning. It’s the second of September. So, Patrick, you are under arrest on suspicion of committing the offense of section 12, subsection three of the Terrorism Act 2000. You are alleged to have addressed an online zoom meeting between the 10th July 2025, and 21 August 2025 for the purpose of encouraging support, furthering the activities of proscribed organization Palestine Action. You do not have to say anything, it may harm your defense. If you do not mention when questioned, something which later rely on in court. Anything you do say may be given in evidence. So the arrest is necessary to prevent loss of evidence, prevent collusion with co-suspects and to allow the searches under the police and criminal evidence act and facilitate this interview. Okay? So that’s the reasons for your arrest today. We will take you to a police station as I just mentioned. So if everyone’s happy we’ll take Patrick now.
