“Blood on Australia’s Hands”: Albanese Government Refuses to End Arms Trade with Israel | David Shoebridge
October 20, 2025
THEY SAY “HUMAN RIGHTS.” THEY MEAN “ARMS DEALS.”
Australia’s hands are not clean.
The Albanese Government refuses to end its weapons trade with Israel, a trade soaked in Palestinian blood.
Accountability isn’t optional. It’s overdue.

David Shoebridge: It was absolutely devastating to wake up this morning to say that Israel had started bombing Gaza again, breaking the ceasefire. And what makes it worse is that the Australian government has still not ended the two way arms trade. And it’s because of this man. Declassified Australia uncovered nearly 70 shipments of weapons parts for the F-35 fighter jet going directly from Australia to Israel since the genocide started. When we asked the Albanese government about this in parliament. They said this:
Australian MP: The F-35 supply chain is a particular arrangement. If you want to use the word special, it is a unique arrangement. It’s a global supply chain. We participate in that. Goods are moved around the world. These are U.S. owned goods. They’re owned, they’re managed by Lockheed Martin. Australia does not direct the export of those goods. It does not control the exports of those goods. It requires those goods if it’s resident in Australia, it needs to issue a permit for those goods to be moved offshore.
David Shoebridge: So let’s get into that. The F-35 is a type of fighter jet. Israel has a fleet of over 40, which it is using to conduct a genocide in Gaza. The fighter jet program relies on parts made in countries across the world, like the UK and Australia, but it is run by the US and a US arms company called Lockheed Martin. The government used to say Australia only sent non-lethal weapons parts for the F-35. Now, and that’s not credible. They’re saying it’s all up to the United States. So even though we know the weapons parts are being sent directly from Australia to Israel and been fed into the genocide, even though we know that every F-35 has parts made in Australia, the Albanese government is saying Australia has no control. It’s up to this man to decide where the weapons from Australia go. But I wonder what else Albanese will let him decide for us?
