Motaz Azaiza Accepts Award for All Gaza Journalists in Washington, D.C.
November 21, 2025
The Arab American Institute recently honored the heroic journalists of Gaza—those martyred and those still defying Israel’s criminal attempts to silence them as the genocide continues.
I had the privilege of attending the AAI Kahlil Gibran Spirit of Humanity Awards in Washington D.C. and meeting Motaz Azaiza, who humbly accepted the award on behalf of the living and the dead. His speech brought home the pure pain and suffering he endured—and that all Palestinians continue to experience—as Israel, with the implicit support of the U.S. and other complicit nations, works to finish the job.
Renowned British-Palestinian journalist Mehdi Hasan introduced Azaiza, reminding us of two years of injustice, atrocities, and war crimes visited upon the Palestinian people as the Israeli state attempts to ethnically cleanse Gaza and the West Bank through the most barbaric means available.
Let no one be deluded: There is NO CEASEFIRE. There is only a mask of deception. Every day, more Palestinians are slaughtered and buildings destroyed.
The BBC reported that since the alleged ceasefire was signed, more than 1,200 buildings have been turned to rubble and over 500 people killed—mostly children.
Please don’t stop talking, sharing, posting, protesting, and demanding justice for Gaza and all Palestinians.
If we allow Zionism to win, WE ALL LOSE.
