Just when you think the moral bar couldn’t get any lower, new footage has emerged of an Israeli soldier mocking and desecrating a statue of the Virgin Mary in the Christian village of Debel, Southern Lebanon.
In a photo circulating this week (May 6, 2026), the soldier is seen smirking while sticking a cigarette into the mouth of the sacred statue, a move that has sparked global outrage among Christian communities.
Only two weeks ago, in this same village, another Israeli soldier was caught on camera using a sledgehammer to smash the head of a statue of Jesus Christ.
