Mass Protests Erupt in Bilbao After Police Clash With Flotilla Supporters

Furious protests have taken over the streets of Bilbao following a shocking display of police brutality targeting human rights activists right as they stepped foot onto European soil. Thousands of demonstrators marched through the Basque city to fiercely condemn the Ertzaintza (Basque regional police) after officers unleashed baton charges against a crowd welcoming home six local activists who had just been deported from illegal Israeli captivity.
Having just survived high-seas kidnapping and documented systematic abuse inside the occupation’s prison network, the flotilla survivors were met not with sanctuary at home, but with shields, batons, and arbitrary arrests.
