Israel Detonates 700 Tonnes of Explosives Near Lebanon’s Historic Beaufort Castle

American journalist Ethan Levins reports on one of the most destructive detonations in Middle Eastern history, where an estimated 700 tonnes of TNT were detonated deep inside South Lebanon.
The blast was so massive it registered as an earthquake on seismic centers across Lebanon, Syria, and northern Israel.
The blast took place right beside the historic 900-year-old Crusader-era Beaufort Castle (Qalaat al-Shaqif), recently added to UNESCO’s List of World Heritage in Danger.
Destroying history under the cover of war.
Beaufort Castle has survived Crusaders, Mamluks, Ottomans, and decades of conflict. Today, it stands once again in the shadow of war.

In the middle of the night, hours ago, the Israelis, without warning, detonated one of the largest blasts in the history of the Middle East. Explosion busted windows and homes kilometers away. Quake centers in Lebanon, Syria and northern Israel registered this as an earthquake, and it was because an abandoned tunnel deep into Lebanon, kilometers away from the Israeli border, posing no threat whatsoever. It’s so happened to be right beside the historic Crusader Christian Beaufort castle because the Israelis occupied this area. They could have blown up the castle. They don’t let journalists or any media into occupied regions. If you think this is new. Across Lebanon, every day they’re blowing up entire villages. Any village. And some of these date back to the Bible. Thousands of years old. Historic sites from the Roman Empire, from biblical Christian times. If it’s behind the front line, Israel’s blowing it up, destroying it all. History is being erased right now as we speak.
