British Whistleblower Dies Months After Giving Evidence in BBC Probe Linking Lutnick to Epstein
October 11, 2026
THE MAN WHO FOUND THE EMAILS IS DEAD. THE PEOPLE WHO IGNORED HIM ARE STILL IN CHARGE.
Simon Andriesz, 57, a British banker, cracked what millions of people combing the Epstein files missed. Everyone searched “Lutnick.” He searched “HWL,” Lutnick’s initials. What came up: 2018 emails showing Lutnick and Epstein invested in the same startup, years after Lutnick swore he cut Epstein off in 2005.
He didn’t sit on it. He took it to the FBI in 2020. Again in 2021. The FBI’s answer, in his words: “no interest.”
He took it to the BBC. He took it to Congress. And while he did, a British regulator reportedly told him he didn’t even qualify for whistleblower protection.
On September 23, Simon died in Thailand. His family says he took his own life.
Now the regulator that brushed him off is “investigating itself.” Congress is down the one witness who knew where the bodies were buried, figuratively speaking. And the White House? It called the BBC’s reporting a “pathetic and desperate attempt to slander” Lutnick.
Lutnick says he did nothing wrong. The BBC reports he hasn’t been accused of wrongdoing tied to Epstein’s crimes. But he did say he cut ties in 2005, and the records show a 2012 family lunch on Epstein’s island.
So who pays when you tell the truth to the people paid to ignore it? Simon did.
