English Script:
Dan Gillerman: All of a sudden here you are grieving for the Palestinians, whose leaders have created the worst atrocities that we’ve seen in this century since the Holocaust.
Jasmine El-Gamal: Can i jump in for just a second, I feel like this is there’s just a really important few corrections that need to be made.
Mark Urban: All right, jump in.
Jasmine El-Gamal: The most important point I want to make right now is about represention and freedom of movement. Because you, sir, you live in Tel Aviv. You are able to travel to London to represent yourself and Israelis on the show. I cannot say the same for Palestinians living in Gaza who are unable to leave to come to London and sit on a television show like this one and speak for themselves. So you are calling people certain words who cannot
Dan Gillerman: Their leaders won’t let them.
Jasmine El-Gamal: No, because you have the borders shut. That’s why they cannot leave. And when you say that you left Gaza in 2005,
Mark Urban: Anthony Bklinken did day on Sunday, that Hamas was preventing the US passport holders from leaving.
Jasmine El-Gamal: I’m not talking about U.S. passport holders. I still think about Palestinians living in Gaza who are right now being called unimaginable names, unable to defend themselves, unable to have a microphone, unable to have journalists tell their stories. The Gaza bureau chief of Al Jazeera today, as he was reporting from Gaza, had his his wife, son and daughter killed in an Israeli strike. That is what is happening. There is no representation for Palestinians. I am not here to speak for them, but because I am here I will make that point.
