\nIn this 2017 speech in front of the annual AIPAC convention, Nikki Haley, then the US Ambassador to the UN, and a current presidential candidate, repeatedly described how she would continue using her role as UN ambassador to work on behalf of Israel.<\/p>\n

One line that special attention should be paid to is when she brags about getting a Palestinian UN official fired to a huge round of applause: \u201cSo when they decided to try and put a Palestinian in one of the highest positions that had ever been given at the UN, we said NO and had him booted out.\u201d<\/p>\n

The abject racism and bigotry in that sentence. To deny someone a deserved assignment, not due to their lack of competence, or qualifications, or due to controversial opinions even, but simply because of their ethnicity. Replace the word \u201cPalestinian\u201d with any other nationality, ethnicity or religion, and there would have been an international uproar.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s almost unimaginable that this continues in the 21st century.<\/p>\n

Palestinians have been so dehumanized in US society that this basically went unnoticed.<\/p>\n
