HE WAS JUST GOING TO WORK.<\/p>\n<p>Meet Lorenzo Salgado Araujo. For 35 years, he lived in Houston, building houses, running a small business, and raising three kids who are all US citizens. Before dawn, he got into his white work van to pick up his construction crew, just like he always did.<\/p>\n<p>He had no criminal record. He was actively working to secure his legal status. But that morning, ICE agents were hunting someone else. They saw a white van. They saw a brown man. That was enough.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, thousands are detained in facilities across America without a charge, a judge, or a trial. By definition, detaining groups of people without due process is the framework of a concentration camp.<br \/>\nLorenzo died on a roadside because he \u201cresembled\u201d someone else. Lorenzo woke up before dawn and drove his white work van, picking up his crew the way he&#8217;d done for years. Three kids, all American citizens. He was getting his work permit. Federal agents had staked out an address, seen two white vans. So when they spotted a van at dawn with a man who resembled their target, they pulled it over. Being brown was enough. And conveniently, the agents weren&#8217;t wearing body cameras. ICE says Lorenzo weaponized his vehicle and tried to run the agent over. So the agent fired. Sadly, this isn&#8217;t new. More than 20 people have been shot by Ice agents since September. This isn&#8217;t one bad stop. It&#8217;s a system. According to the Holocaust Remembrance Center. A concentration camp is a facility where the government detains groups of people without a trial or due process. This administration is showing you what it can do. A man died on a roadside because he looked like somebody else. What will you do when they mistake you for someone else?
