In this episode, Radhika argues that democracy is supposed to mean the power of ordinary people. Yet, in her view, Western democracies increasingly preserve the appearance of electoralism while stripping away much of the substance behind it.<\/p>\n

She points to voting restrictions, partisan redistricting, and growing distrust in electoral processes as examples of what she describes as the \u201cdenaturing\u201d of democracy.<\/p>\n
