\nTensions in the Middle East continued to escalate to new heights after the US military carried out strikes on over 85 targets in Iraq and Syria in response to the killing of three US soldiers last Sunday.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt my direction, US military forces struck targets at facilities in Iraq and Syria that the IRGC and affiliated militia use to attack US forces,\u201d said US President Joe Biden in a statement yesterday, referring to Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).<\/p>\n

\u201cOur response began today. It will continue at times and places of our choosing,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Despite both Iran and the US, claiming not to want to escalate attacks into a full-blown war in the region, this action by the US today indicates differently.<\/p>\n

The reality is that the people of the Middle East are facing the prospect of a regional war involving major global powers as a result of Israel\u2019s belligerent violence and aggression against the Palestinians in Gaza.<\/p>\n
