\u270a ANU STUDENTS SAY NO TO COMPLICITY<\/p>\n

Hands up, in the open, in front of everyone. Students at one of Australia\u2019s top universities voted to demand their university cut institutional ties with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and pull its money out of arms manufacturers, in solidarity with Palestine.<\/p>\n

They aren\u2019t asking for much. They\u2019re asking that the place they study, and pay to study at, not invest in weapons or partner with institutions tied to Israel\u2019s military actions against Palestinians. Supporters of divestment say universities should make sure their investments and partnerships don\u2019t help fund military operations linked to human rights violations.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a student-led push to make the university look at where its money goes, and it\u2019s growing across Australian campuses.<\/p>\n

The students have spoken. Now it\u2019s the university\u2019s turn to answer.<\/p>\n
