In this heated exchange, commentator Alex Stein challenges the claim that Iran has been at war with the United States since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, arguing that the history is far more complicated than the slogans suggest.<\/p>\n

Stein questions the distinction between attacks on U.S. forces stationed abroad and attacks on American civilians at home, while raising controversial allegations about Israel\u2019s role in shaping Washington\u2019s approach to Iran.<\/p>\n

But the history cannot be reduced to either side\u2019s talking points. Iran-backed groups have been implicated in attacks that killed U.S. personnel, including the 1983 Beirut Marine barracks bombing, while successive U.S. administrations and Iran\u2019s government have engaged in decades of confrontation, sanctions, covert operations, and military escalation.<\/p>\n

Alex Stein: U.S. soldiers, they’re on their turf. If a bunch of their soldiers came here, we kill them. That doesn’t mean we kill the Iranians. The Iranians, they don\u2019t kill American civilians. They’ve never killed an American civilian. And then on top of that, when it comes to Beirut and Lebanon, Israel had information that they were going to bomb the embassy there, and they let 200 Americans die. And that is what they used as a pretext to start this war with Iran. So it\u2019s all bullshit. If Israel cared about us, they would\u2019ve protected all the soldiers that they knew information that they were going to kill us. And they didn’t. Because why? They want a false flag attack to happen to motivate us, to warn people like you can go. We’ve been a war with him since 1947. Which is nonsense, because no irony is ever going to kill you. <\/p>\n
