And when people start to notice the pattern, he says, most don\u2019t follow it through.<\/p>\n<p>He speaks about a country that backs Israel while the world watches Gaza being bombed, and says it only makes sense if you accept the story that Muslims don\u2019t matter. He points to the pull of the right wing here, and tells the people he\u2019s talking to that the picture of the Muslim world they\u2019ve been sold doesn\u2019t match what he saw himself: he says he\u2019s been to Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey and many other Muslim-majority countries, and that \u201cit\u2019s nothing like what we\u2019re told.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whatever you think of every word, the conversation is the point.
