\n\u201cAMERICANS WILL DIE\u201d: TED CRUZ\u2019S LATEST ATTACK ON ABDUL EL-SAYED.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, campaigning in Michigan for Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers, Sen. Ted Cruz (@sentedcruz ) said that if Democratic nominee Abdul El-Sayed (@abdulelsayed )is elected, \u201cthere is a very real risk that Americans will die as a result.\u201d His condition: \u201cif I am correct that he is a passionate supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood.\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s the claim: a US Senate candidate\u2019s election could get Americans killed. And the evidence for the Brotherhood link is a resurfaced 2012 social media post by El-Sayed\u2019s half-sister about their mother\u2019s activism in college. El-Sayed has said he \u201cabsolutely\u201d disavows the Muslim Brotherhood and has repeatedly denied the claim.<\/p>\n

The double standard: Zeteo\u2019s Prem Thakker hit back, pointing to the hypocrisy of Cruz, one of Israel\u2019s most vocal backers in Congress, using \u201cforeign loyalty\u201d as a weapon against a Muslim-American candidate. In Thakker\u2019s argument, the country Cruz champions is the one whose actions have killed American citizens.<\/p>\n

Toxic playbook: The smears didn\u2019t stop there. Cruz is also now attacking Texas Democratic nominee James Talarico\u2019s masculinity. This is the same Cruz who famously stayed quiet when Donald Trump publicly insulted his wife.<\/p>\n

Where does he get off? Is this peak political hypocrisy, or just another election-season smear?<\/p>\n
