\nDON\u2019T BE FOOLED: AIPAC IS NOT DEAD<\/p>\n

AIPAC says it will no longer publicly endorse candidates, make direct PAC contributions, or earmark money for specific campaigns.<\/p>\n

The creator\u2019s warning: that doesn\u2019t mean it\u2019s gone. It means it\u2019s changing how the money moves.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s his argument. The big pool of donors who gave through AIPAC will now send money as private citizens straight to individual campaigns, with no AIPAC name attached. That model is decentralized, and it\u2019s a lot harder to track.<\/p>\n

It matters because the part of AIPAC\u2019s operation that spends the most, a super PAC called the United Democracy Project, isn\u2019t going anywhere. AIPAC says its members gave more than $90 million directly to candidates this cycle, and that direct giving from its members \u201cwill continue and increase.\u201d<\/p>\n

And look at the name: the United Democracy Project. It sounds like a pro-democracy group. You\u2019d never guess what it\u2019s for unless someone told you. That\u2019s the point, he says.<\/p>\n

One correction to the framing. UDP isn\u2019t new. It\u2019s been AIPAC\u2019s super PAC since 2021, and the group isn\u2019t rebranding as UDP. What\u2019s changing is the way AIPAC gives, not who\u2019s behind it.<\/p>\n

So when politicians say they\u2019ve \u201ccut ties\u201d with AIPAC, ask where their money comes from now.<\/p>\n

Spread the word. Make sure people know what UDP is.<\/p>\n
