In a groundbreaking admission on Hadley Gamble\u2019s show On the Record, former White House envoy Amos Hochstein conceded that the United States fundamentally failed to enforce the 2024 ceasefire agreement. <\/p>\n

Hochstein openly acknowledged that Washington\u2019s breakdown in diplomatic enforcement created a severe security vacuum. This failure directly allowed Israel to breach sovereign borders and execute a counterproductive \u201cmuscular approach\u201d to occupy southern Lebanese territory.<\/p>\n

Crucially, Hochstein noted that by letting the truce collapse and allowing a foreign military to entrench its footprint on Lebanese soil, the U.S. inadvertently justified Hezbollah\u2019s core stance. For decades, the militant group has argued that Western diplomatic guarantees are entirely worthless and that armed resistance is the only viable deterrent protecting Lebanon from foreign expansion. By failing to police the initial framework, American diplomacy structurally compromised Lebanon while practically verifying its adversaries\u2019 long-standing narrative.<\/p>\n
