Russia and China VETO the U.S. resolution for NOT demanding a ceasefire!<\/p>\n

The U.S. submitted a UNSC resolution claiming it calls for a ceasefire in Gaza.
\nUpon examination of the wording, the resolution calls for talk towards reaching a ceasefire however avoids explicitly calling for one.<\/p>\n

Deputy Permanent Representative Polyanskiy referred to the document as \u201c\u201dordinary American deceit.\u201d\u201d According to the diplomat, it gave the green light to Israel\u2019s military operation in Rafah.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u201dThe American draft resolution is a distraction and blatant political manipulation. Russia will not accept that the Council turns into a destructive tool in the Middle East. This resolution will give \u201c\u201dIsrael\u201d\u201d absolute freedom to kill and expel Palestinians….\u201d\u201d<\/p>\n

U.S. Secretary of State is currently on a Middle East tour claiming they submitted a draft calling for a ceasefire. This is false and deceitful.<\/p>\n

The United States drafted resolution calling for a ceasefire and the hostage deal in Gaza has failed. There were 11 votes in favor, three against and one abstention. Russia and China vetoed the draft resolution that tied on an immediate ceasefire in Gaza to the release of hostages held by Hamas. The U.S. representative to the U.N. Security Council Linda Thomas-Greenfield, says Russia and China did not want to vote for a resolution put forward by the United States because they would rather see the U.S. fail. Russia, during the vote, said the United States is calling for a ceasefire due to domestic political reasons. And earlier, United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, as the U.S. grows more critical of Israel’s military campaign in Gaza. The US Secretary of State’s has been in the Middle East to discuss a postwar plan to govern and secure Gaza.
