Australians are ramping up their pressure on their government with protesters in the two main cities continuing with weekly demonstrations and marches against the government\u2019s ongoing support and ties with the fascist, racist, apartheid and genocidal state of Israel.<\/p>\n

In Sydney, activists unfurled a massive banner featuring the names of thousands of children who have lost their lives due to Israeli military bombardment of Gaza.
\n\u201cThey have names, they had dreams,\u201d the banner read.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in Melbourne student at the University of Melbourne gathered and conducted a protest, calling for divestment from weapons companies fuelling the war in Gaza.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t want blood on our degrees.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dana Alshaer, one of the protesters, pointed out that the university has \u201ctens of millions of dollars in partnerships\u201d with companies such as Lockheed Martin and Rosebank Engineering, an Australian-based company that produces components for the F-35 fighter jets currently used by Israel.<\/p>\n

Alshaer believes that pro-Palestinian students and staff have been \u201csilenced and censored\u201d by the university to \u201cstifle\u201d their voices for Palestine.<\/p>\n

Nabil Ben Hassine, another protester, mentioned that the university has refused to condemn the systematic destruction of universities in Gaza.<\/p>\n
