Maltese politician Evarist Bartolo, a prominent member of the Labor Party and former Minister for European & Foreign Affairs, delivered a bold critique of the United States foreign policy at the World Economic Forum\u2019s Annual Meeting in Davos, last January.<\/p>\n

He began his address with a metaphor, stating, \u201cIf you have an ugly face, don\u2019t blame the mirror\u201d.<\/p>\n

According to Bartolo, the \u201cugly face\u201d in this analogy is not the United Nations, but rather the position of the UNITED STATES in supporting the Israeli Occupation and allowing it to act with IMPUNITY.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe United States, for all these years, has supported Israel and let it do whatever it likes, I think even against the interests of Israel and Israelis. So, you know, it\u2019s this problem,\u201d Ambassador Bartolo stated.<\/p>\n

Bartolo should be recognised and applauded for his bravery. Bravo!<\/p>\n

The international system is as good as the most powerful states. Right now, the US has shown its true IMMORAL colours in its support of Israel and has destroyed its reputation and that of the UN.<\/p>\n
