Several Iranian universities have announced that they would be willing to offer scholarships to students in the US and Europe who have been suspended or expelled from their schools for participating in pro-Palestinian protests on campus.<\/p>\n

Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran said it would welcome students turned away from universities in the West.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have considered scholarships for these students and will fully pay for their education, dormitory and stay,\u201d said SBU President Mahmoud Aghamiri.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will also especially support Palestinian students who are facing challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n

A similar announcement was made by Mohammad Moazzeni, who runs Shiraz University in the Fars province. He announced at a gathering of students meant to show \u201csolidarity\u201d with Pro-Palestinian protestors in the West.<\/p>\n

Of the police response to the encampment demonstrations, he said, \u201cThey exert a lot of violence in order to contain this raging movement and have even threatened to expel the students from universities and hinder their employment in the future, and such autocratic methods show the decline of global arrogance,\u201d according to Irainian state-owned outlet Press TV.<\/p>\n

\u201cStudents and even professors who have been expelled or threatened with expulsion can continue their studies at Shiraz University and I think that other universities in Shiraz as well as Fars Province are also prepared to provide the conditions.\u201d<\/p>\n

He reportedly argued that what is happening in Gaza reveals the true nature of Western civilization and further supports the message of Iran\u2019s 1979 Islamic Revolution, the Iranian state outlet reported.<\/p>\n
