King Faisal, who ruled Saudi Arabia from 1964 to 1975, was a prominent figure in the Arab world and an outspoken critic of Zionism. He saw Zionism as a colonial project that oppressed the Palestinian people and threatened the stability of the region. Faisal believed in the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and strongly opposed the establishment of the state of Israel on Palestinian land. His views on Zionism reflected the sentiments of many in the Arab world during his time.<\/p>\n

But today, Saudi Arabia has taken an opportunistic turn. It is working to normalise ties with the Zionist state and in doing so is compromising not only the Palestinian cause but their Saudi Arabia’s own standing in the Middle East and the world.<\/p>\n
