The U.K. is not copying a White House pledge to stop some arms exports to Israel if a full invasion of Rafah goes ahead, British Foreign Secretary David Cameron said Thursday.<\/p>\n

The Foreign Secretary claimed that there was a \u201cvery fundamental difference\u201d between arms shipments from the U.S. and the U.K., where the U.K. government grants individual licenses to companies wanting to export arms overseas.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe U.S. is a massive state supplier for weapons to Israel,\u201d he said. \u201cWe do not have a U.K. government supply of weapons to Israel. We have a number of licenses, and I think our defense exports to Israel are responsible for significantly less than one percent of their total. That is a big difference.\u201d<\/p>\n

*This is an appalling manipulation of the law by Lord Cameron, who is trying to get the U.K. out of trouble on a technicality that would not stand up in any court of law. That\u2019s why he is avoiding the court rooms.<\/p>\n

His own former Supreme Court justices have declared that Israel is committing genocide and has unquestionably \u201cbroken international humanitarian law\u201d yet Secretary Cameron is trying to convince himself and the world that U.K. is still on the right side of the law if it exports weapons to Israel.<\/p>\n
