Lily Greenberg Call, the first known Jewish appointee to resign from the Biden administration over the war in Gaza, has SPOKEN OUT against the President\u2019s support for Israel\u2019s genocide war and her Zionist childhood education.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u201dI was raised with a fairytale about the Nakba. The Nakba was something that I was not really told about…I was raised with this idea that Israel was a land without a people for a people without a land.\u201d\u201d<\/p>\n

Greenberg Call was a special assistant to the chief of staff at the Interior Department after being named to the post by President Biden in early 2023, but she quit on May 15 in a four-page letter that slammed Biden\u2019s \u201cdisastrous, continued support for Israel\u2019s genocide in Gaza.\u201d<\/p>\n

She is at least the fifth high-profile resignation from the Biden administration since October 7. She says her resignation was motivated by her Jewish values. \u201cI feel that I am really living in my Jewishness, in the essence of what I was raised with, by standing up for Palestinians and by demanding their freedom,\u201d<\/p>\n

In her letter she criticized Biden and others for pitting Jewish safety against Palestinian rights. \u201cI am so angry at the president that he is using my community as justification for this slaughter, making us the face of the American war machine.\u201d<\/p>\n

It takes much courage to defy the Israeli state and the power of the Zionists, however, at a time when a genocide is being perpetrated, our humanity MUST be held above all considerations, political viewpoints and personal aspirations!<\/p>\n
