\nMehdi Hassan: Ten days after October the 7th, after the horrors of October 7th, you wrote a piece and the headline was: \u201cIf someone killed my child, I’d want bloody revenge. But I’d be wrong – as is the Israeli government.\u201d So my question is, why does Rob Delaney, ten days after October 7th, say, I’m going to go out and write this piece. That’s going to get- it’s going to piss. It’s going to make people happy. It is going to piss a lot of people off.
\nRob Delaney: I mean, I, as you can see, I’m getting emotional, already thinking about this. You know, you are probably aware that I have a son who died a few years ago of a brain cancer. So, I’ve held my child’s corpse, in a state of rigor mortis. I watched him starve before they figured out what was wrong with him. If you or I had a tumor, we would say something’s wrong here in my head, and we would be able to talk about. My son couldn’t speak yet. He was, symptoms started to appear days before he turned one. Okay. So he didn’t have the power of speech, so he would throw up a lot because the tumor in his head was pressing on the emetic center in his brain. It\u2019s like a button that makes you vomit. So I’m watching a baby who should be getting fat and chunky gets smaller, okay. I’m watching his skin get loose on his body and his eyes become hollow. So I’ve seen a baby that I love gets smaller rather than larger, which is I don’t know how to express to you how terrifying that is.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
