Palestinian citizens of Israel, are not protesting against Israel’s atrocities in Gaza. And here’s the actual reason why. There is a de facto ban on Palestinian protests in Israel against the war or in solidarity with the Palestinian people in Gaza, resulting in over 30 arrests. Palestinian citizens of Israel are not protesting due to fear and a ban on expressing dissent. Online Palestinian expression is also criminalized. Since October 7th, over 130 Palestinian citizens were arrested for social media posts. Over 100 Palestinian students are facing disciplinary actions, suspensions or expulsions from Israeli academic institutions. Artists, workers and influencers are also facing persecution for speaking out against Israel’s war crimes.
