LEBANON ON HIGH ALERT! After Israeli attack kills 3 girls & grandmother.
November 6, 2023Lebanon is back on high alert following the unprovoked attack on a civilian vehicle carrying five women, including three girls under 14, their mother and grandmother was targeted by an Israeli drone killing four of the passengers.
After Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah’s speech on Friday, cooled tensions as Lebanese and people around the world anxiously anticipated what he would say after breaking his month long silence on the war between Israel and Hamas, the Lebanese were relieved Iran and Hezbollah were not intent on dragging Lebanon into another regional conflict that could only result in more destruction and devastation to the already battered country, which is suffering one of the worst economic crises in world history.
But last night’s horrific attack appears to have struck too close to home with people enraged and shocked at Israel’s blatant targeting of civilians, violating the laws of war, humanitarian law, and international law. Lebanese political leaders including Prime Minister Mikati and Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib, condemned Israel and addressed the issue with the UN Security Council.
However, will this be enough to appease the growing anger and frustration amongst Hezbollah and the people of South Lebanon who have been displaced for possibly the 10th time in the last 4-5 decades as a result of bombardment, invasions, and unrelenting attacks by Israeli fighter jets and ground forces across Lebanon’s southern border, sometimes in retaliation to Hezbollah but most times unprovoked.
Admittedly the cross-border skirmishes between Hezbollah and Israel began on Oct 8 after Hamas militia launched an horrific attack on Israel from Gaza killing around 1400 mostly Israeli, civilians which Lebanon and the world condemned, but Israel’s disproportionate response and its genocide of nearly 10,000 Palestinian civilians, injuring upwards of 40,000 and displacement of nearly 2 million inhabitants of Gaza in just over four weeks has enraged and polarised the world.

Daizy to Camera: Yesterday witnessed the worst night of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah since the October 7 war between Israel and Hamas began.
While Lebanon breathed a sigh of relief on Friday after Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, in his much anticipated global addressed clearly stated that Hezbollah would not be drawn into the conflict unless Israel breached Lebanon’s security and borders more seriously, last night’s attack on a civilian vehicle pulled Lebanon and the Lebanese back into a state of breathlessness.
An unsuspecting civilian vehicle carrying 4 girls under the age of 14 and their grandmother was targeted and destroyed by an Israeli drone claiming the vehicle was carrying terrorists. Only one teenage girl survived. All others perished in the unjustified attack by Israeli Defence Forces.
Samir Ayoub, a journalist and the brother of the grandmother killed in the attack, who was driving in a vehicle ahead of them, was devastated by the killings.

Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati denounced the attack as an “abhorrent crime committed by the Israeli enemy.”
Lebanon’s Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib said he would raise the matter with the U.N. Security Council today.
Daizy: Shortly after the incident on Sunday night, Hezbollah responded by firing three Katyusha rockets at the northern Israeli town of Kiryat Shmona.
Israeli military spokesperson Daniel Hagari claimed that the IDF had attacked Hezbollah targets in the north in response to an anti-tank missile attack that killed an Israeli civilian, but failed to provide any proof of the civilian that was killed.
Earlier Sunday, four Lebanese rescue workers were injured in an Israeli bombing in southern Lebanon that hit two ambulances belonging to the Risala Scout association.
They took place at dawn when the two ambulances were called to evacuate wounded in the village of Tayr Harfa, three kilometers from the border with Israel.
Daizy: The Israeli army again claimed to have been targeting a “terrorist cell that attempted to fire from Lebanon toward the area of Rosh Hanikra in northern Israel,” but NO PROOF was provided.
The word on the ground in Beirut and among analysts and observers is that Israel is trying to goad Hezbollah to join the conflict in a more forceful manner so it will have an excuse to lunch heavy strikes against Lebanon similar to those being seen in Gaza.
