THE WEST WING TV SERIES – 1709 MAP OF HOLY LAND – THERE WAS NO ISRAEL

One of my favorite TV Dramas of all time was the American show The West Wing which tried to portray the real day-day experiences of being US President and working in the White House.
What was great about it was creator, Aaron Sorkin’s attempt to write episodes that confronted real issues happening in our world.
This episode confronted the theory that zionists continue to put forward today that they are the rightful owners of all of Palestine and other Arab lands. In this episode one of characters, Charlie, has bought President Bartlett, a devotee of history, an old map dating back to 1709, which has no reference to Israel. It’s only references names such as Palestine and Canaan as the Holy Lands. There is no reference to Israel.
Throughout the whole episode President Bartlett is trying to get the OK from his staff to have it framed and hung in the White House and people keep telling him he can’t because it doesn’t show Israel.

His argument that “there was no Israel in 1709” doesn’t seem to cut through because his staffers tell him, that the Jewish/Zionist lobby would be affronted.

When FACT has no place in reality and lobbyists can “cancel” history to suit their narrative, we do need to be concerned.
