UN SEC GENERAL DECLARES: “IT IS TIME TO ACT!”
December 8, 2023The UN Secretary General, Antonia Guterres, has just given a stern speech at an emergency session of the UN Security Council where he told them: “The eyes of the world and the eyes of history are watching. It is time to ACT.”
He urged the Council to call for an “IMMEDIATE HUMANITARIAN CEASEFIRE.”
In his address Gueterres condemned Hamas’s actions on Oct 7 but stated that “it cannot justify the collective punishment of the Palestinian people…such conduct does not absolve Israel on its own violations…International Humanitarian Law cannot be applied selectively. It is binding on all parties at all times.”
