The fourth most powerful army in the Middle East continues to count its losses in Gaza, according to the classification of the “Global Firepower” website. A new announcement about the death of 10 soldiers, most of them officers, including a battalion commander. This is the heaviest death toll among Israeli soldiers announced by the army in one day since the start of the ground offensive on October 27th. A toll that may seem normal on the battlefield between two powerful armies, but it was the result of a Hamas ambush carried out in the Shujaiya neighborhood, northern of Gaza. It is an area over which Israel previously boasted of its tight control and the success of its incursion, and even confirmed its closeness to ending its military mission there to eliminate Hamas.

The Israeli army’s disclosure of the number of deaths and losses among its ranks has been limited and in small batches since the start of “Al Aqsa Flood”.
