Bassem Youssef: I’ve been touring for the past month. I did Australia and Melbourne 802,700 seats
Kris Fade: Sold out quickly.
Bassem Youssef: Sold out twice.
Kris Fade: Yeah.
Bassem Youssef: Went to Brisbane, added Brisbane, sold out twice, sold Sydney four times and added the Opera House. And then we sold the Opera House in five days. The capacity of the Opera House is 1900 seats. The added extra seats became 2200 people. And so in my last show in Melbourne. I was speaking about how important it is that as we as human, as Arabs to be seen as humans and that the numbers that they come out in the streets have come out in those seats means something. People need to understand our weight as Arabs, you know, Arabs i’ve just seen, many of them are not involved. They don’t go out and people we have never seen that many Arabs. We didn’t know that many of you exist. And not just like many of you exist like, but when they see you as a purchasing power, the perception changes. They respect and they want to make sure that they don’t cross you because this is what they understand. Money, capitalism, right? Yeah, so as long as they see us as lesser, they’re not going to respect us or worry or even care about what we think as Arabs. But when they say, Oh, they buy tickets, they fill our theaters, they give us money. Unfortunately, this is the way it is. So when I tell them, when you show up in numbers, in masses to to support our artists, now they can actually they have to listen to us.
