English Script:
Daizy: It’s minus four degrees here in The Hague and we’re all freezing but we, I thought I’d ask a few people why they came to stand outside the International Court of Justice, why they’re here. And this young lady, your name is?
Atika: Yeah, my name is Atika.
Daizy: Atika, and you’ve come from Germany.
Atika: I come from Germany.
Daizy: Just to be here today?
Atika: Yeah, it’s very important. I’m here for Palestine. I’m here to say stop the genocide, stop killing children and yes.
Daizy: And tell me what the feeling is in Germany, how is the response?
Atika: It’s very difficult because of Germany’s past. It’s a lot of repressive and it’s a difficult to say…
Daizy: Precedent?
Atika: To say your opinion, or do you think it’s…
Daizy: Censorship, oppression.
Atika: Yes.
Daizy: It’s oppression of the voice.
Atika: Yes and it’s very difficult that we try to go every week, out on the streets and to demonstrate and to say, no, Palestine has the right to exist and the Palestinians have the right to to live and to exist in freedom and justice yeah.
Daizy: And you are Moroccan.
Atika: Originally I am Moroccan, my husband is Palestinian. And my children are Palestinian.
Daizy: It’s a very important day.
Atika: Yes, a historic day. Historic moment. Thank you very much.
Daizy: Thank you.
