LEBANESE PATRIARCH SERVING AMERICAN & ISRAELI AGENDA AGAINST PALESTINE

Lebanese Journalist & Political Commentator, Ghasssan Saoud, questions the morality of the Lebanese Patriarch of the Maronite Church, Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, whose apparent neutrality on the situation in Gaza serves the American and Israeli agenda.
He is referring specifically to the debate in Lebanon as to whether the nearly half a million Palestinian refugees should be given citizenship, as well as the nearly two million Syrian refugees.
If the Palestinians and Syrians are given citizenship, they would eliminate the right of return of these refugees back to their own countries, which many dream of doing.
He calls on the Patriarch to show leadership and decide on what side of the debate he is on and not to remain silent and neutral.

Ghassan Saoud: Today we’re seeing Jewish activists in New York and the United States that have more humanity than the Patriarch in Lebanon. What we’re seeing is unbelievable. We’re seeing a capable Patriarch maintaining his neutrality which serves the American agenda and the Israeli agenda, which supports the naturalisation of Palestinians in Lebanon, and supports the naturalization of Syrians in Lebanon. Look, if your children died, you the martyrs of the Lebanese Forces, to end the Palestinian problem in Lebanon, and the Palestinians end up remaning in Lebanon, then say to Samir Geagea well done! It’s a slap in the face. Meaning your children died in vain, and everything you sacrificed for and all your slogans against Palestinians are meaningless. Because if I am against Palestinians (staying in Lebanon), I need to be against killing the Palestinian cause, so they can go back to their country. That is if you use your mind. If you use your mind and you’re against Palestinians and you don’t want them in Lebanon, you want them to go back to their country, then you need the Palestinian cause to stay alive, and in order to do so, this operation (in Gaza) revived that cause. What we’re living today, what the Americans are doing today is killing the Palestinian cause, and this means the 400-500 thousand Palestinian refugees, (remaining in Lebanon) this is inevitable and final, and you need to accept them. Now, if you’re refusing to accept them and you’re against their naturalisation in Lebanon, you need to stand today with Gaza. Or the Patriarch needs to choose where he stands. Is he with Palestinians staying in Lebanon? If yes, then he’s neutral, and he doesn’t care, just solve this cause, and the Palestinians will stay here in Lebanon. But if he has a spiritual, religious and humane background and emotions, he can’t stay silent. Who can see these photos and stay silent?
Here lies the question. Here the blame does not fall only on the Patriarch, but it is incumbent upon the entire society that continues to live and does not see these photos, these photos that cannot be unseen anymore.
