THIRD-LARGEST RALLY IN ISRAEL
January 21, 2024Israelis and Palestinian citizens of Israel gathered in an anti-war protest in Haifa yesteday, Israel’s third-largest city, demanding a ceasefire in Gaza.
Police initially refused to approve the protest, as reported by Haaretz. However, following a petition to the Supreme Court of Justice by Hadash and the Association for Civil Rights in Israel, they eventually authorised it with attendance limitations.
Thousands also demonstrations in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, and outside Netanyahu’s private residence in Caesarea. One of the protesters a bereaved sister of one of the hostages said: ‘The values on which this country was built were replaced by political survival, bickering, and incitement’.
Instability across Israel is mounting among its citizens who are calling for early elections to remove PM Netanyahu and his warmongering government who have destroyed Israeli society and brought more fear and violence to the people.
