HAMAS NOT THE ENEMY OUR GOVERNMENT IS
January 27, 2024Thousands gathered in Tel Aviv on Saturday to express their dissatisfaction with the Israeli government’s handling of the ongoing war. Protesters criticized the government for its perceived inaction in securing the release of hostages taken by Hamas on October 7 and accused them of jeopardizing the lives of Israeli soldiers and failing to prevent the October 7 attacks.
Speakers at the protest, which included members of the war cabinet, such as Gadi Eisenkot, who has personally experienced the loss of family members in the conflict, highlighted the challenges of conducting rescue missions for hostages, deeming them practically impossible. Eisenkot and many Israelis are now advocating for elections, presumably with the aim of voting out Prime Minister Netanyahu.
Netanyahu faced pre-existing unpopularity in Israel before the war, exacerbated by his attempts to consolidate power by diminishing the roles of the courts.
