NOSTALGIA THE PARADISE THAT ONCE WAS BEIRUT
February 4, 2024Lebanon is so loved by millions around the world for its liberal, tolerant and intellectual society and has for centuries been the gateway between the east and the west.
The physical beauty of its mountanious landscapes, green and fertile plains and ancient coastlines make it a rare jewel in amidst the dry, barren and flat terrains that are predominant in the rest of the Middle East.
No other country in the world offers, so naturally, a powerful and humble mix of Muslim, Christian and Jewish customs, traditions and devotion to faith, whilst embracing modernity and innovation, and doing all this in spite of the catastrophes that have been visited upon this tiny nation recently.
It is no wonder Israel is trying to annex it and other nations throughout history have failed in their attempt to conquer it.
I guess it is then not hard to understand why I returned to Lebanon two years ago after spending nearly my whole life in Australia.
I invite you to come and discover MY LEBANON, when the madness of the war on Gaza ends. You will be amazed

English Script:
Kind of weather they’ve been having lately in the Middle East. Here in Beirut, they’ve been shivering under the first snowfall for 30 years. Palm trees and snowflakes don’t seem to mix, but as some of the elder inhabitants probably say, “It makes a nice change.”
