U.S. & UK BOMB YEMEN AGAIN BUT YEMENI’S STAND WITH GAZA
February 5, 2024After US and UK warships and fighter planes launched a new round of attacks against Houthis in Yemen yesterday, Yemeni’s swore to stand by Gaza even if their capital Sanaa was burned to the ground.
36 targets, allegedly military, were bombed in what Pentagon officials termed a ‘collective action’ operation, hitting buried weapons storage facilities, missile systems, launchers and other capabilities the Houthis had used to attack Red Sea shipping.
This is what the US is claiming and its puppet the UK is parroting. Obviously a significant number of sites were hit across Yemen with the damage still to be assessed.
What also has to be assessed are the repercussions from Yemen and its ally Iran and the impact on regional and global security.
We have to ask ourselves: “”Will the Houthis follow through with their threat to cut the Red Sea underground fiber optic cable?””
Interestingly, the Houthis made the threat saying they would take this serious step “”if the US and UK launch another attack on Yemeni airports””.
Does the fact that the airport was not target reduce the risk of the Houthis disconnecting the world as the potential severance of these cables raises concerns for geopolitical stability, global financial markets, and cybersecurity. IT’S HUGE!
The tit-for-tat will be thrown out the window and full blown WWIII will ensue if the cables are cut.
But whose fault would it be Yemen or US/UK?
