3RD VETO 12,000 DEAD BABIES & CHILDREN NOT BAD ENOUGH TO PERSUADE U.S.A TO VOTE FOR CEASEFIRE
February 21, 2024Another devastating blow as the U.S. exercises its third veto amidst the Gaza conflict.
Despite widespread global support for a UN resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire in Gaza, America asserts concerns over hostages needed to be prioritised, illustrating a stark contrast in priorities.
With 29,000 innocent lives lost,12,000 of them CHILDREN, the USA decided this was NOT THE RIGHT TIME to vote for a ceasefire!
INCORRIGIBLE!
Following the vote, US Ambassador the UN, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, explained that the United States’ stance, asserting that the resolution would not lead to sustainable peace and could jeopardize delicate negotiations.
“”Let us commit to doing this the RIGHT WAY at the RIGHT TIME,”” Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield stated.
12,000 dead babies and children is not cause enough for America to end the slaughter.
The U.S.’s complicity in this ongoing GENOCIDE is unquestionable. America must be made to account for these decisions and for continuing to provide the weapons being used to undertake this massacre!

Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett: Will those in favor of the draft resolution contained in document S/2024/173, please raise their hand. Those against abstentions. The result of the voting is as follows. 13 votes in favor, one vote against, one abstention. The draft resolution has not been adopted owing to the negative vote of a permanent member of the council.
Linda Thomas-Greenfield: Colleagues, over the past few weeks we have made incredibly clear that the resolution before the Council would not achieve the goal of a sustainable peace and may in fact run counter to it. Proceeding with a vote today was wishful and irresponsible. And so, while we cannot support a resolution that would put sensitive negotiations in jeopardy, we look forward to engaging on a text that we believe will address so many of the concerns we all share. Let us commit to doing this the right way and at the right time so that we can create the right conditions for a safer, more peaceful future.
